SUMMARY:Motivational Interviewing
DESCRIPTION:3 Day Workshop \n\n\n\nThis three-day workshop (in-person) offers an engaging introduction to Motivational Interviewing (MI)\, an evidence-based\, person-centered style of communication designed to strengthen a person’s own motivation and commitment to change. Participants will explore basic concepts\, including the OARS and MI Spirit. Through a mix of presentation\, group discussion\, and hands-on practice\, participants will gain insight into how MI can help facilitate conversations that empower individuals to take control of their own change process. By the end of Day 3\, it is anticipated that participants will have a solid understanding of how MI can help guide individuals toward making meaningful changes in their lives. No prior experience with MI is necessary\, just an open mind and a willingness to share and learn! \n\n\n\nTraining is Free\, Pre-registration is Required. \n\n\n\nThis is a three-day workshop; your registration includes all three days. (September 11\, 17\, 18) \n\n\n\nEligible for 15 CECs. You must attend all three days in order to receive credit.

DESCRIPTION:In this virtual session\, we will deconstruct the juvenile justice system (why and how it is often harmful)\, and how we then replicate many of its elements in our diversion processes. We will see how Restorative Justice speaks to the failures of our justice system and allows us to operate in a way that is consistent with research about how the developing minds of young people work. We will also explore how trauma interrupts development and impacts children’s behavior. This session will give participants a deeper understanding of what restorative justice is and how it differs from our traditional systems while still getting the outcomes we want. There is no charge for this training\, however space is limited to 50 participants.  \n\n\n\nTraining is Free\, Pre-registration is Required \n\n\n\nThis is an interactive training that requires active participation.
