Culture, Identity, and the Lens We Bring to Our Work Workshop (Virtual)

This foundational session examines how culture and identity shape the ways professionals understand young people, families, behavior, relationships, and one another. Participants will explore culture beyond race and ethnicity, including language, family structure, socioeconomic experiences, community, ability, religion, geography, and professional culture. The session introduces cultural humility and helps participants distinguish between what they observe and the meaning they assign to an interaction or behavior. Participants begin examining their own cultural lenses and how those lenses can influence professional practice.
